|INCF develops and maintains database and computational infrastructure for neuroscientists. Software tools and standards for the international neuroinformatics community are being developed through the INCF Programs, which address infrastructural issues of high importance to the neuroscience community.|
|EGI is a federation of over 350 resource centres and coordinated by EGI.eu, a not-for-profit foundation created to manage the infrastructure on behalf of its participants: National Grid Initiatives (NGIs) and European Intergovernmental Research Organisations (EIROs). |WeNMR is both a three years project funded under the European Commission’s 7th Framework Programme (e-Infrastructure RI-261571) and a Virtual Research Community supported by EGI, the largest one within the life science area. WeNMR aims at bringing together complementary research teams in the structural biology and life science area into a virtual research community at a worldwide level and provide them with a platform integrating and streamlining the computational approaches necessary for NMR and SAXS data analysis and structural modelling.|
|MAPPER (Multiscale Applications on European e-Infrastructures) is a science driven project with the aim to exploit existing European e-infrastructures for distributed multiscale computing, consisting of dedicated programming and execution tools, and production quality services that are needed to support this mode of computing. The MAPPER focus on multiscale reflects the increasing research focus on investigating phenomena at every level of the system, from the microscopic to the global and everything in between. Typical application areas for multiscale computing are fusion research, hydrology, physiology, nano-material science, and computational biology. INSTRUCT (Integrated structural biology) is the dynamic hub of structural biology; integrating the infrastructure of expertise, technology platforms and education to further the frontiers of science. It provides structural and cell biologists from industry and academia with the opportunity to further their research. INSTRUCT aims to provide strategic leadership for structural biology in Europe by promoting an integrated approach to technology and methodologies.Instruct is part of the Biological and Medical Sciences (BMS) projects on the ESFRI roadmap (European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures).
The expert support and training available through Instruct ensures research is productive and that technology is used to optimal effect. This includes training in the use of the technology platform itself. INSTRUCT works with the companies that manufacture the machines used by structural and cell biologists. It also provides funding for academic pilot projects in this field.
